Derived from the Greek 'Σωσίπατρος' (Sosipatros), composed of 'σῶος' (soos - 'saved, healthy') and 'πατήρ' (pater - 'father'). Means 'saved by the father' or 'with a savior father'. In the New Testament, Sosipater is a Christian apostle mentioned by the Apostle Paul in the Epistle to the Romans.
